This revolutionary technology is featured on Fourstroke 01 and enables on-the-fly and squat-free seatpost dropping to push further faster.​

When Every Second Matters

During a race, BMC riders activate Autodrop up to a hundred times allowing them to focus entirely on the track.

The peerless technology eliminates the need to squat to lower the saddle with it’s intuitive two-position adjustment, allowing riders to pedal longer before hitting a downhill section.

The result? More speed, improved lap times and less fatigue for a race-defining split-second advantage.

Functionality

Mechanical operation
Autodrop is a mechanically operated dropper seatpost enabled by the air tank housed in the downtube.

No batteries required
The dropper seat post is actuated by a cable, while the Autodrop function is powered by pressurized air contained in the downtube air tank.

Pump it up!
The air tank can be filled using a regular track pump. 14 bars allow for around 100 activations of the Autodrop system.

No range anxiety!
Enough to win a World Cup event or day-long trail rides: when the air tank is empty, Autodrop still works like a regular dropper seatpost allowing your body weight to drop.

Use it like a regular post; no learning curve is required.

Advanced Pivot System – the best tool for the job

• Using APS, BMC engineers have access to a versatile suspension system with the ability to design complex kinematics that could not be achieved using weight-driven solutions like flex stays and single-pivot suspension systems.

• APS features a virtual rear suspension pivot trough the rear wheel travel, which is defined by upper and lower link and the resulting 4 pivots.

• APS allows BMC to fine-tune the suspension kinematics to provide an incredibly dynamic suspension behavior across the travel.

Uphill Traction:

The anti-squat tuning featured on Fourstroke decreases along the travel, preventing chain growth when hitting obstacles; this allows the suspension to compress smoothly and track the terrain for perfect traction.

Once the suspension starts extending again, the anti-squat value rises to keep the wheel tracking the terrain, significantly increasing the grip.

Downhill Flow:

APS keeps the suspension active when the going gets tough by reducing pedal-kickback deep in the travel and preventing negative influences during braking.
